This violation indicates that the driver is driving after 14 consecutive hours has passed into their workday.
A common reason why the violation occurs is when the driver does not take the full 10 hours OFF duty to reset their workday.
Workday Limit is a consecutive limit. Time spent in OFF duty and SB during the workday not counting towards the consecutive OFF duty time required to reset the workday or cycle will contribute to the 14 hour workday time. The workday will start with the first D or ON log created after a cycle reset or a workday reset.
Sleeper berth has special behavior and can pause the workday consecutive limit when used in greater than 8 hours duration.
