Cannot Add my Device to my Database

Symptoms

  • Error: "The device with this serial number is outside of your data scope".
  • Cannot see device my device in the database

  2. Groups

Cause

There are two causes for this error to populate:

  1. The device serial number is incorrect.
  2. The device has already been added to the database by another user.
    • The device cannot be viewed by you due to the different group clearances. 

Resolution

Ensure that the device serial number is correct and contact a database administrator so that they can place the device in your group. 

Additional Notes

Always verify that the serial number of the device you are trying to add is the correct serial number.
