Answer

The IOX-AUX uses a learning algorithm to figure out what type of circuit it is connected to. There are three possible circuits that the IOX-AUX can connect to:

  1. Ground-High circuit:  This means that the auxiliary is connected to ground when the switch is in one position, and high in the other position. By high we mean a voltage source, probably around 12 Volts.
  2. Ground-Float Circuit:  This means that the auxiliary is connected to ground when the switch is in one position, and there is an open circuit when the switch is in the other position.
  3. Float-High Circuit:  Similar to #2, this means the auxiliary is connected to high when the switch is in one position, and there is an open circuit when the switch is in the other position.

By the end of the learning process, the auxiliary should be configured to one of the following states:

  1. High-low state: In this state, the IOX-AUX will log a 1 for a high voltage, and 0 for low voltage. The IOX-AUX goes into this state when it believes it is connected to a Ground-High or Float-High circuit.
  2. Low-High state: In this state, the IOX-Aux will log a 0 for high voltage, and 1 for low voltage. The IOX-AUX goes into this state when it believes it is connected to a Ground-Float circuit.
