This message appears when the VIN (vehicle identification number) obtained by the GO device does not match the VIN manually entered within the MyGeotab UI (User Interface).
A VIN that shows up as a series of characters means that it has not been properly programmed or detected from the vehicle's ECM (engine control module).
Option 1: Troubleshoot the device by unplugging and re-plugging the GO device.
Option 2: A firmware update may be needed. Please contact Geotab Support for further assistance.
Option 3: Ensure the VIN is programmed correctly within the vehicle's ECM.
