Vehicle on No-GPS plan not retrieving engine odometer

Symptoms

  • No odometer presented in the Vehicle Edit page.
  • No Odometer measurements in the engine measurements report.
  • Service plan presented as Pro-No GPS e.g.

Cause

In order for a vehicle on a No-GPS plan to collect and display odometer, the odometer readings need to be validated. This requires some GPS readings.

Resolution

The devices should be placed on an alternative plan (Pro, Pro Plus, Base or HOS) for a few trips, to validate the odometer from the GPS readings. 

Additional Notes

If engine data is supported for the vehicle make/model/year, a firmware upgrade can be performed to further troubleshoot. Please contact Geotab Support to request a device firmware upgrade.
