Why is the "ELD Drivers Approaching Limit" report including rest limit for drivers with California Rulesets?

Symptoms

  • Why Customer is receiving notification that drivers are approaching violations for 30 minute breaks while they are using Passenger rule-set

Applies To

  • MyGeotab
  • HOS Reports

Cause

This report was not counting the upcoming rest violation when one of the following words were found on the HOS Ruleset column:

  • None: which is for No Ruleset.
  • Short: which is for Short Haul.

But it wasn't looking for "California", and this should be there since California rulesets don't have to take a 30-min break after 8 hours.

Resolution

  1. Update the formula in Column I on the report tab for "Rest". Add the bold part into the formula.
    =IF(OR(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("None",F8)),ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Short",F8)),ISNUMBER(SEARCH("California",F8))),"OK",IF(AND(G8=TRUE,T11<=((Summary!$A$5*60)+Summary!$B$5)/1440),"ALERT","OK"))
  2. Once the report is updated, upload it into the database.
