Answer

Volume derived for each fill-ups is calculated via the following equation:

(tankCapacityLiters * ((tankMaxim% - tankMinima%) / 100))

Where:

tankCapacityLiters is the fuel tank capacity of the vehicle,

tankMaxim% is the maximum fuel tank level (percentage) measurement during a fill-up event, and

tankMinima% is the minimum fuel tank level (percentage) measurement during a fill-up event.

Additional Notes

The above calculation is used when a vehicle reports fuel tank level (percentage) measurements and has fuel tank capacity information associated with it.

If fuel tank level (volume) information is reported by a vehicle, or fill-ups are manually entered by a user, then the above calculation is not used to report a fill-up event.
