Answer

This "Accelerometer calibration in progress (more driving required)" fault code simply means that the device itself is still calibrating its internal accelerometer in relation to the vehicle it is in, as in each vehicle, the device is in a different location and the device needs to know which direction in relation to itself corresponds to up/down, left/right, and forward/back before it can report accelerometer data. Until the point where the device can accurately tell these directions, this 'fault' will be reported to let you know that more driving is required to successfully calibrate. There could be vehicle driving in a road which might be slightly bumpy, the device is not fasten tightly/properly, and simply more driving is required. Firmware should not be affecting device's accelerometer from calibration.
