If the device is getting less or no engine data, it means the device either lost communication with the vehicle ECU or entered Listen Only mode.
This can happen for multiple reasons. The main reason is due to the installation issue. A loose device or harness connection is the most common cause.
Check Engine Faults and see there is any fault that indicates faulty installation.
Try hard reset by power cycling the device to allow the device to detect the vehicle protocol again. If there is no engine fault indicating faulty installation, try updating the device firmware update which triggers soft reset.
If the problem is not resolved after resetting the device, contact Geotab Support for further support.
Base mode devices do not get any engine data.
