Door and Temperature Sensors

0

Hi to all ,

I would like to ask if it is possible to get temperature data without the use of Valor kit but with existing commonly used door and temp sensors.

Sorry for asking but Valor is to expensive solution which does not help us to be competitive.

Τhank you in advance for your answer

Hello,

It is possible to obtain data using common door and temperature sensors via third-party sensor integration. Geotab supports third-party device integration through the CAN, USB, RS232, and BLE interfaces. Third-party devices communicate with the GO device using an IOX Add-On corresponding to the aforementioned interfaces. I have provided a link to our IOX Add-On's below. The data sent to the GO device will then be transmitted to the MyGeotab platform, where it can be queried by navigating to Engine & Maintenance > Engine & Device > Measurements.

The following link provides an explanation of third-party device integration, and the Add-on Protocols section explains the integration process required for each of the interfaces mentioned above: https://my.geotab.com/sdk/#/hardwareIntro

IOX Add-Ons: https://www.geotab.com/support-documentation/

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello,

It is possible to generate rules based off of the incoming data from these sensors. If, for example, a third party temperature sensor was set up in our system, it would transmit this data to the GO device and then this would be transferred to MyGeotab and stored in engine measurements. A rule could then be set up, as an example, to look at when this temperature sensor records a value above 25 degrees celcius.
