Set the default report

0

In MyGeotab 5.7 it does not seem possible to edit the default reports.  So we create custom reports, but they appear after the default reports.  So to use the custom report we either wait for the default report to display custom criteria or wait for the custom report to display default criteria.  In short, we are pretty much having to wait for the report to load twice unless we just so happen to need data under default criteria.

Is it possible to somehow set a custom report (e.g. "My custom Exception Detail Report") to be the report shown when I select criteria on the Exceptions page instead of the "Default Exception Detail Report"?

Hello,

While it's not possible to directly replace the default reports, you are able to upload a new custom report and hide the default. When you hide the default report, it will no longer show as an option in any part of the database and you can choose your custom report when selecting criteria on the exceptions page.

To download and customize a report and then re-upload the new template:

  1. Select Administration > Reports... > Report Views
  2. Find the report that you would like to edit
  3. Click the Excel icon on the report to export
  4. Make necessary changes in Excel to template and save.
  5. In Report Views, Select Add Excel File
  6. Click on Drop your files here or click to select them
  7. Select your newly customized template/report
  8. Input the name for your report
  9. Set Show report in dropdown list: to Yes.
  10. Press Save

To Hide the Default Reports:

  1. Select Administration > Reports... > Report Views
  2. Find and select report
  3. Change Show report in dropdown list: to No.
  4. Press Save

Unfortunately there is no way to set a custom report to be shown when you select the criteria through the web page. However, a work around would be to set up the custom report in the dashboard with the criteria that you want and open the report through the summary page.

Hello,

When you upload a custom report based off a default template and then hide the default report, it will make it so only the custom report is shown as an option when selecting the criteria on the exceptions page. I have attached a screenshot below that displays the way it would appear in the database. The list view will always be there but by hiding the default reports and putting custom reports in their place, you are able to make it so only the custom reports are visible when selecting the criteria for exceptions.
